The route Charlotte Carvalho took into university basketball

Athlavia had no involvement with Charlotte Carvalho. She has not used this product, is not connected to it and has not endorsed it. Everything on this page about her is drawn from the published sources listed at the foot, and cited so you can read the originals. The sentences about what an association’s rules permit are ours; they are statements about a rulebook, they are marked as such where they appear, and they are not about her.
No photograph. Roster images belong to the universities and photographers who made them.

One of 110 routes documented, covering 108 women. See all of them.
The route
Three stops: Two-year college, then Two-year college — same level, then NCAA Division I — from a two-year college to a four-year one. No other woman among the 108 documented here followed this sequence of levels.
Left to right is the order the sources place her stops in. It is not a time axis: 54 of the 181 stops recorded across this site carry a bare pair of dates and the rest are prose, so the years are printed as written, in the list below.
The rows are the NCAA’s own three divisions, plus two dashed rows for everything outside them. NAIA and U SPORTS are separate associations rather than a lower NCAA tier, and nothing in these records ranks them against it; the two-year colleges sit at the foot because a junior college is an institution players transfer on from, which the records do say. The shaded bar behind each row is how many of the 110 routes documented here include a stop at that level.
The stops, as the sources record them
Printed as written. The drawing above compresses these; this list does not, because every caveat in the research lives inside these sentences.

What these levels are, and what money can exist at them
These are facts about rulebooks. They apply to everyone at that level, and none of them is a statement about her.
Two-year college
Walters State Community College (Tennessee)
Which NJCAA division Walters State Community College (Tennessee) played in is not established by her sources, so we cannot say which of the three rulebooks applied. Divisions I and II permit athletic scholarships; Division III does not.
Grayson College (Texas)
Which NJCAA division Grayson College (Texas) played in is not established by her sources, so we cannot say which of the three rulebooks applied. Divisions I and II permit athletic scholarships; Division III does not.
NCAA Division I
This association permits athletic scholarships. Whether any particular player received one, and how much of one, is not published.
Where she was before she left
Dakar, Senegal. Regional reporting of her signing records that she won an under-16 title, represented Senegal's under-18 team in 2020 and attended the NBA's Basketball Without Borders camp in Chicago.
What happened, in the sources’ account
Carvalho began her US college career at one junior college in Tennessee in 2022-23, moved to a second junior college in Texas for 2023-24, and only then transferred to a Division I programme. At Grayson she averaged 10.4 points on 50 per cent shooting and 6.0 rebounds, scoring in double figures in 18 of 27 games, and she arrived at Louisiana as a junior with two years of eligibility remaining.
What is known about money
Athletic scholarships are permitted at NCAA Division I, where she played. That is a fact about the rulebook, not about her.
Which NJCAA division Walters State Community College (Tennessee) and Grayson College (Texas) played in is not established by her sources, so we cannot say which of the three rulebooks applied. Divisions I and II permit athletic scholarships; Division III does not.
No source we fetched states what she received, if anything.
6 of the 110 routes documented here have a source stating any financial term at all. The other 104 do not, and that is normal rather than a gap in the research: a university announces a signing as a roster addition, and what a player was offered stays between her and the programme. Read silence as silence.
No source states anything about money.
Copied without editing. Like the checking notes further down, some of these sentences are instructions to the person writing this page rather than statements about her.
Nothing published. The announcements are roster-addition language only, with no mention of a scholarship, an amount, or any financial term. Do not describe her move to Louisiana as a scholarship.
What happened since
Still in the collegiate stage. CBS Sports lists her on the Louisiana Ragin' Cajuns roster; no professional career is published in any source I read, and her playing record at Louisiana is not documented in the sources I could load.
No retrieval date is stored against these sources, so treat anything time-sensitive — a current club, a current roster — as needing a fresh check.
Athlavia’s note on this route
Everything above is drawn from the sources. This is our editorial judgement about why the route is worth showing, and it is the only opinion on this page.
Not every route is a straight line, and a first placement that does not work out is not the end. Two junior colleges and then Division I is a completely legitimate path, and the numbers she posted to earn the move - about ten points a game, third on her team - are a realistic bar, not a star's.
This set has not been through the balancing pass, so it may over-represent Division I.
What we could not confirm
These are the checking pass’s own notes, copied without editing. They address the person writing this page, which is why some are phrased as instructions. They are published because a list of what we removed is worth more than an assurance that we checked.
What the second pass removed or corrected
- CORRECTED: the previous draft named the North Texas Junior College Athletic Conference for Grayson College. No source I read states it, so it has been changed to 'not confirmed'.
What is still unknown
- The official Louisiana athletics release exists at the cited URL (HTTP 200, headline renders) but its body text would not render for my fetcher, so it is marked fetched:false. The Walters State 2022-23 date is corroborated by a search-index snippet of that same release and by the ESPN affiliate's account; the biographical detail above rests on the ESPN affiliate and CBS Sports.
- What she has achieved at Louisiana since 2024-25 is not covered by any source I read. Do not imply an outcome.
- 1 of her 3 stops carries no conference we could establish.
- 1 cited page could not be loaded. Nothing here rests on it.
- The NJCAA division is not stated for 2 of her two-year colleges, and the three divisions differ on athletic scholarships.
2 further notes in our file are not published here. A note is withheld when it states a date of birth or an age, names a relative, or is an internal editorial instruction about which records to keep.
Researcher’s own rating: 74 out of 100. This is the checking agent’s self-assessment, not a measurement. Across the 110 records it runs from 62 to 93, so the source count above it tells you more.

Athlavia had no involvement with Charlotte Carvalho. We did not advise, represent or place her, and we do not know her.
This page describes a public sporting record: where she played, at what level, and what published sources say about that. It carries no photograph, no date of birth and no contact details, and we do not report anything about her health beyond what her own sources state and what the route requires.
If you are Charlotte Carvalho, or represent her, and want anything here corrected or this page removed, write to support@athlavia.com and we will act on it.
