The route Ana Moleon Hidalgo took into university basketball

Guard/forward

Spanish

Athlavia had no involvement with Ana Moleon Hidalgo. She has not used this product, is not connected to it and has not endorsed it. Everything on this page about her is drawn from the published sources listed at the foot, and cited so you can read the originals. The sentences about what an association’s rules permit are ours; they are statements about a rulebook, they are marked as such where they appear, and they are not about her.

No photograph. Roster images belong to the universities and photographers who made them.

Before university
The route Ana Moleon Hidalgo took, drawn as the levels she played at, in the order her sources place them.
Before university: Spain. Her sources describe this in words, not as a level.
Stop 1: Cal Poly (California Polytechnic State University, San Luis Obispo), NCAA Division I.
Stop 2: Mid-America Christian University (Oklahoma City, Oklahoma), NAIA.

Two stops: NCAA Division I, then NAIA — to a different association. No other woman among the 108 documented here followed this sequence of levels.

Left to right is the order the sources place her stops in. It is not a time axis: 54 of the 181 stops recorded across this site carry a bare pair of dates and the rest are prose, so the years are printed as written, in the list below.

The rows are the NCAA’s own three divisions, plus two dashed rows for everything outside them. NAIA and U SPORTS are separate associations rather than a lower NCAA tier, and nothing in these records ranks them against it; the two-year colleges sit at the foot because a junior college is an institution players transfer on from, which the records do say. The shaded bar behind each row is how many of the 110 routes documented here include a stop at that level.

The stops, as the sources record them

Printed as written. The drawing above compresses these; this list does not, because every caveat in the research lives inside these sentences.

  1. 1

Cal Poly (California Polytechnic State University, San Luis Obispo)

    NCAA DI

    NCAA Division I

not verified in the sources we fetched

2025-26 confirmed on her Cal Poly player page. An earlier 2024-25 season is implied by her junior standing but we could not confirm it.

  2. To a different association

    2

Mid-America Christian University (Oklahoma City, Oklahoma)

    NAIA

NAIA (the university also participates in the NCCAA at Division I, Central region)

    Sooner Athletic Conference

listed as a junior on the 2026-27 roster

What these levels are, and what money can exist at them

These are facts about rulebooks. They apply to everyone at that level, and none of them is a statement about her.

NCAA Division I

This association permits athletic scholarships. Whether any particular player received one, and how much of one, is not published.

What the rules actually say at NCAA Division I

NAIA

This association permits athletic scholarships. Whether any particular player received one, and how much of one, is not published.

What the rules actually say at NAIA

Where she was before she left

From Elche, Alicante, per her Mid-America Christian roster line. The previous draft's 'San Gabriel (Spain)' detail came from a search snippet we could not open and has been removed.

What happened, in the sources’ account

Moleon Hidalgo went from Elche to Cal Poly, an NCAA Division I programme, where her player page places her on the 2025-26 women's basketball roster. She then transferred and appears on the 2026-27 roster of Mid-America Christian University, an NAIA school in Oklahoma City, listed as a junior guard/forward with Cal Poly as her previous school.

What is known about money

Athletic scholarships are permitted at every level on this route. That is a fact about the rulebook, not about her.

No source we fetched states what she received, if anything.

6 of the 110 routes documented here have a source stating any financial term at all. The other 104 do not, and that is normal rather than a gap in the research: a university announces a signing as a roster addition, and what a player was offered stays between her and the programme. Read silence as silence.

What our researchers found about money

No source states anything about money.

Copied without editing. Like the checking notes further down, some of these sentences are instructions to the person writing this page rather than statements about her.

No source we read states any scholarship amount, percentage, or any financial term at either institution.

What happened since

as our sources stood when they were read

Still in college. Listed on the 2026-27 Mid-America Christian roster. Nothing further published.

No retrieval date is stored against these sources, so treat anything time-sensitive — a current club, a current roster — as needing a fresh check.

Athlavia’s note on this route

Everything above is drawn from the sources. This is our editorial judgement about why the route is worth showing, and it is the only opinion on this page.

The most honest counterweight to the Division I dream. A Spanish player did reach Division I, and then transferred to an NAIA school. Families should read that as a normal, sensible correction rather than a fall. The level you start at is a starting point, and moving to a different tier to play more is a choice many players make.

This set has not been through the balancing pass, so it may over-represent Division I.

What we could not confirm

These are the checking pass’s own notes, copied without editing. They address the person writing this page, which is why some are phrased as instructions. They are published because a list of what we removed is worth more than an assurance that we checked.

What the second pass removed or corrected

  • PARTIALLY VERIFIED. The MACU roster loads and supports every claim made from it. The Cal Poly player page loads and confirms the name 'Ana Moleon Hidalgo' against Cal Poly women's basketball 2025-26, but the page returned almost no body content to us, so we have her name and affiliation and nothing else from it.
  • REMOVED: the previous draft said she played 'two seasons averaging low minutes' at Cal Poly. No source we could open states any playing time whatsoever. That claim is deleted and must not be reinstated without a statistics page. The Sports Reference URL previously cited returns HTTP 403 and has been dropped as a source.
  • CORRECTED: the years at Cal Poly have been reduced from '2024-25 and 2025-26' to the single season we could confirm.

What is still unknown

  • She is a current student-athlete mid-transfer. The 2026-27 roster listing could still change.
  • Name spelling varies (Moleon, Moleon Hidalgo, Moleon Hidalgo with accents). Cal Poly renders it 'Ana Moleon Hidalgo'; MACU renders it 'Ana Moleon'. Note also that the Cal Poly URL slug misspells it 'ana-molen-hidalgo' — that is the correct working URL, not a typo on our part.

2 further notes in our file are not published here. A note is withheld when it states a date of birth or an age, names a relative, or is an internal editorial instruction about which records to keep.

Researcher’s own rating: 62 out of 100. This is the checking agent’s self-assessment, not a measurement. Across the 110 records it runs from 62 to 93, so the source count above it tells you more.
