The route Ines Gimenez Monserrat took into university basketball

Athlavia had no involvement with Ines Gimenez Monserrat. She has not used this product, is not connected to it and has not endorsed it. Everything on this page about her is drawn from the published sources listed at the foot, and cited so you can read the originals. The sentences about what an association’s rules permit are ours; they are statements about a rulebook, they are marked as such where they appear, and they are not about her.
No photograph. Roster images belong to the universities and photographers who made them.

The route
Two stops: NCAA Division II, then NCAA Division I — up a division. No other woman among the 108 documented here followed this sequence of levels.
This route includes a move to a lower-numbered NCAA division. Every move is drawn in the same weight and the same colour, whichever way it went, because the graphic does not rank the levels it draws.
Left to right is the order the sources place her stops in. It is not a time axis: 54 of the 181 stops recorded across this site carry a bare pair of dates and the rest are prose, so the years are printed as written, in the list below.
The rows are the NCAA’s own three divisions, plus two dashed rows for everything outside them. NAIA and U SPORTS are separate associations rather than a lower NCAA tier, and nothing in these records ranks them against it; the two-year colleges sit at the foot because a junior college is an institution players transfer on from, which the records do say. The shaded bar behind each row is how many of the 110 routes documented here include a stop at that level.
The stops, as the sources record them
Printed as written. The drawing above compresses these; this list does not, because every caveat in the research lives inside these sentences.

What these levels are, and what money can exist at them
These are facts about rulebooks. They apply to everyone at that level, and none of them is a statement about her.
NCAA Division II
This association permits athletic scholarships. Whether any particular player received one, and how much of one, is not published.
NCAA Division I
This association permits athletic scholarships. Whether any particular player received one, and how much of one, is not published.
Where she was before she left
Mallorca; the Franklin Pierce roster gives her hometown as Calvia and her school as IES Font de Sant Lluis. Her Manhattan bio credits her as a four-time Balearic champion who has represented the Spanish national team.
What happened, in the sources’ account
Gimenez started her American career at a small Division II school in rural New Hampshire, appearing on the Franklin Pierce roster as a freshman in 2020-21 and a junior in 2022-23. She made the Northeast-10 All-Rookie Team in 2021-22 and the NE10 All-Conference First Team in 2022-23. That record moved her up to Division I at Manhattan, where she was a senior in 2023-24, averaged 10.8 points across 29 games, and was named Preseason All-MAAC Third Team ahead of her graduate year. Her published major is Environmental Studies.
What is known about money
Athletic scholarships are permitted at every level on this route. That is a fact about the rulebook, not about her.
No source we fetched states what she received, if anything.
6 of the 110 routes documented here have a source stating any financial term at all. The other 104 do not, and that is normal rather than a gap in the research: a university announces a signing as a roster addition, and what a player was offered stays between her and the programme. Read silence as silence.
No source states anything about money.
Copied without editing. Like the checking notes further down, some of these sentences are instructions to the person writing this page rather than statements about her.
No fetched source states a scholarship, an amount, a percentage or any financial term. Her bio lists conference honours and a major, nothing financial.
What happened since
She was on Manhattan's roster as a graduate student for 2024-25. No professional career is published in the sources fetched.
No retrieval date is stored against these sources, so treat anything time-sensitive — a current club, a current roster — as needing a fresh check.
Athlavia’s note on this route
Everything above is drawn from the sources. This is our editorial judgement about why the route is worth showing, and it is the only opinion on this page.
This is the clearest published example of Division II as a route rather than a ceiling. She was not recruited into Division I out of Spain; she earned it over three years at a school most Spanish families have never heard of. It also shows the graduate-year mechanism, which lets a player finish one degree and start something else while still playing.
This set has not been through the balancing pass, so it may over-represent Division I.
What we could not confirm
These are the checking pass’s own notes, copied without editing. They address the person writing this page, which is why some are phrased as instructions. They are published because a list of what we removed is worth more than an assurance that we checked.
What the second pass removed or corrected
- CORRECTED: the previous draft said she made the NE10 All-Rookie Team 'as a first-year'. Her Manhattan bio dates that award to 2021-22, while the Franklin Pierce roster lists her as a freshman in 2020-21. Give the award years, not a class year.
What is still unknown
- Franklin Pierce's NCAA Division II and Northeast-10 membership is confirmed from the fetched Franklin Pierce roster page.
- Manhattan's MAAC membership is supported by the Preseason All-MAAC Third Team honour in her fetched bio. The Manhattan roster page footer also displayed a Northeast Conference logo, so confirm the conference for the specific season before printing it.
- Manhattan College was renamed Manhattan University; both names appear in sources.
- Her national team involvement is described only as having represented the Spanish national team, with no level or year given - do not upgrade this to the senior team.
- I did not verify what happened after the 2024-25 graduate season.
Researcher’s own rating: 92 out of 100. This is the checking agent’s self-assessment, not a measurement. Across the 110 records it runs from 62 to 93, so the source count above it tells you more.
