Does it field a women’s basketball team?

Yes. University of Rochester reported 17 women’s basketball participants in the Equity in Athletics return it filed for 2025-26. That is the institution’s own count of the squad, not a roster page Athlavia has read, and it is the figure the United States Department of Education publishes.

NCAA Division III does not permit athletically-related student aid of any kind. A Division III programme can still be an excellent destination, but no basketball scholarship exists at one — the money there is academic and need-based aid.

Money is still available here: academic awards, need-based grants and institutional bursaries. What does not exist is an award made because of basketball. A recruiter offering one at a NCAA DIII institution is describing something the rules do not allow.
