The route Deniz Alparslan took into university basketball
Guard, 5'10"
Turkish (hometown listed as Ankara, Turkey on every Rochester roster; citizenship not separately stated)
Athlavia had no involvement with Deniz Alparslan. She has not used this product, is not connected to it and has not endorsed it. Everything on this page about her is drawn from the published sources listed at the foot, and cited so you can read the originals. The sentences about what an association’s rules permit are ours; they are statements about a rulebook, they are marked as such where they appear, and they are not about her.
No photograph. Roster images belong to the universities and photographers who made them.

One of 110 routes documented, covering 108 women. See all of them.
The route
One institution on the record: University of Rochester, NCAA Division III. 9 of the 110 routes documented here include a stop on that row. The rows above and below are the frame of reference, not places she was.
Left to right is the order the sources place her stops in. It is not a time axis: 54 of the 181 stops recorded across this site carry a bare pair of dates and the rest are prose, so the years are printed as written, in the list below.
The rows are the NCAA’s own three divisions, plus two dashed rows for everything outside them. NAIA and U SPORTS are separate associations rather than a lower NCAA tier, and nothing in these records ranks them against it; the two-year colleges sit at the foot because a junior college is an institution players transfer on from, which the records do say. The shaded bar behind each row is how many of the 110 routes documented here include a stop at that level.
The institution on the record
Printed as written. The drawing above compresses these; this list does not, because every caveat in the research lives inside these sentences.

University of Rochester
NCAA DIIINCAA Division III
University Athletic Association (UAA) for the seasons documented; Rochester's athletics site now carries Liberty League branding for 2026-27
2024-25 (first year), 2025-26 (sophomore), 2026-27 (junior) — all three rosters verified
What these levels are, and what money can exist at them
These are facts about rulebooks. They apply to everyone at that level, and none of them is a statement about her.
NCAA Division III
NCAA Division III forbids athletically related aid outright. A place there can be an excellent one and will never carry a basketball scholarship.
Where she was before she left
IDF Bilkent (İhsan Doğramıcı Foundation Bilkent school), Ankara, Turkey — listed as her 'Previous School' on the 2024-25, 2025-26 and 2026-27 Rochester rosters. No club team is named in any source.
What happened, in the sources’ account
She came straight from a school in Ankara to a Division III university in New York State, arriving as a first year in 2024-25 alongside her twin sister Melis. She is a computer science major. As a sophomore in 2025-26 she appeared in all 25 games with five starts, averaging 5.9 points and 4.2 rebounds in 19.2 minutes, and in March 2026 she was named to the CSC Academic All-District team — an honour for athletic and academic performance combined, not a financial award. She is listed as a junior on the 2026-27 roster.
What is known about money
NCAA Division III forbids athletically related aid outright, so no basketball scholarship exists at University of Rochester.
No source we fetched states what she received, if anything.
6 of the 110 routes documented here have a source stating any financial term at all. The other 104 do not, and that is normal rather than a gap in the research: a university announces a signing as a roster addition, and what a player was offered stays between her and the programme. Read silence as silence.
No source states anything about money.
Copied without editing. Like the checking notes further down, some of these sentences are instructions to the person writing this page rather than statements about her.
No source says anything about her financial aid, tuition, or any award of money. NCAA Division III institutions are not permitted to award athletically related financial aid, so whatever she receives, if anything, would be academic or need-based aid available to any student — but no published source describes her aid and none should be inferred.
What happened since
as our sources stood when they were read
Not applicable and not published — she is a current undergraduate, listed as a junior on the 2026-27 roster.
No retrieval date is stored against these sources, so treat anything time-sensitive — a current club, a current roster — as needing a fresh check.
Athlavia’s note on this route
Everything above is drawn from the sources. This is our editorial judgement about why the route is worth showing, and it is the only opinion on this page.
This is the most ordinary version of the route and therefore the most useful one. Division III does not permit athletic scholarships at all, so a family looking at a university like Rochester is looking at the same admissions and financial-aid process any international applicant faces: academic merit awards and need-based institutional grants, assessed on the application rather than on the basketball. The visible reward is a computer science degree from a strong research university plus four years of competitive basketball, with an academic honour rather than a scholarship as the headline achievement.
This set has not been through the balancing pass, so it may over-represent Division I.
What we could not confirm
These are the checking pass’s own notes, copied without editing. They address the person writing this page, which is why some are phrased as instructions. They are published because a list of what we removed is worth more than an assurance that we checked.
What the second pass removed or corrected
- CORRECTION to the previous draft: her position IS listed. She is a guard, 5'10", on all three rosters. Do not repeat the claim that no position is published.
What is still unknown
- CONFERENCE IS UNSETTLED. The March 2026 Rochester news release refers to the UAA, while every roster page (including archived ones) now carries a Liberty League footer logo, which suggests a move effective 2026-27. Rochester's NCAA Division III status is not in doubt. Re-check the conference immediately before publishing, or write 'NCAA Division III' alone.
- The undated /roster URL currently resolves to 2026-27 and will roll over again. Cite dated archive URLs for anything year-specific.
- Individual bio-page URLs on this site resolve to the full roster page rather than a player bio. Take her details only from roster tables and the news release.
- She is a current student. Re-verify her class year and enrolment if the page runs for a long time.
Researcher’s own rating: 92 out of 100. This is the checking agent’s self-assessment, not a measurement. Across the 110 records it runs from 62 to 93, so the source count above it tells you more.

Athlavia had no involvement with Deniz Alparslan. We did not advise, represent or place her, and we do not know her.
This page describes a public sporting record: where she played, at what level, and what published sources say about that. It carries no photograph, no date of birth and no contact details, and we do not report anything about her health beyond what her own sources state and what the route requires.
If you are Deniz Alparslan, or represent her, and want anything here corrected or this page removed, write to support@athlavia.com and we will act on it.
