The route Waleska Brito took into university basketball
Guard, 5'3" in basketball; midfielder/forward (M/F) on the 2024 soccer roster
Ecuadorian — Bard's own athletics feature describes her as being from Guayaquil, Ecuador, and the rosters list her hometown as Guayaquil, Ecuador
Athlavia had no involvement with Waleska Brito. She has not used this product, is not connected to it and has not endorsed it. Everything on this page about her is drawn from the published sources listed at the foot, and cited so you can read the originals. The sentences about what an association’s rules permit are ours; they are statements about a rulebook, they are marked as such where they appear, and they are not about her.
No photograph. Roster images belong to the universities and photographers who made them.
5 pages, all on bardathletics.com. Treat that as one source, not 5.
One of 110 routes documented, covering 108 women. See all of them.
The route
One institution on the record: Bard College, NCAA Division III. 9 of the 110 routes documented here include a stop on that row. The rows above and below are the frame of reference, not places she was.
Left to right is the order the sources place her stops in. It is not a time axis: 54 of the 181 stops recorded across this site carry a bare pair of dates and the rest are prose, so the years are printed as written, in the list below.
The rows are the NCAA’s own three divisions, plus two dashed rows for everything outside them. NAIA and U SPORTS are separate associations rather than a lower NCAA tier, and nothing in these records ranks them against it; the two-year colleges sit at the foot because a junior college is an institution players transfer on from, which the records do say. The shaded bar behind each row is how many of the 110 routes documented here include a stop at that level.
The institution on the record
Printed as written. The drawing above compresses these; this list does not, because every caveat in the research lives inside these sentences.

Bard College
NCAA DIIINCAA Division III
Liberty League
women's basketball rosters verified for 2022-23 (sophomore) and 2023-24 (junior); also on the 2024 women's soccer roster as a senior
What these levels are, and what money can exist at them
These are facts about rulebooks. They apply to everyone at that level, and none of them is a statement about her.
NCAA Division III
NCAA Division III forbids athletically related aid outright. A place there can be an excellent one and will never carry a basketball scholarship.
Where she was before she left
Prince Edward, in Farmville, Virginia — listed as her previous school on every Bard roster fetched. She grew up in Guayaquil and, per Bard's feature, first played organised football at a competitive level while in Virginia. No club team is named.
What happened, in the sources’ account
She grew up in Guayaquil, attended secondary school in rural Virginia, and was recruited to Bard for football after the coach saw her on film — then played basketball as a second sport in Division III. She studied architecture and was named to the Liberty League All-Academic team in both 2022-23 and 2023-24. She does not appear on the 2024-25 basketball roster, and she is listed as a senior midfielder/forward on the 2024 soccer roster.
What is known about money
NCAA Division III forbids athletically related aid outright, so no basketball scholarship exists at Bard College.
No source we fetched states what she received, if anything.
6 of the 110 routes documented here have a source stating any financial term at all. The other 104 do not, and that is normal rather than a gap in the research: a university announces a signing as a roster addition, and what a player was offered stays between her and the programme. Read silence as silence.
No source states anything about money.
Copied without editing. Like the checking notes further down, some of these sentences are instructions to the person writing this page rather than statements about her.
No source states any scholarship, aid amount or financial term. Bard's feature discusses her studies and her football recruitment and publishes no funding information about her. Division III institutions cannot award athletically related aid at all.
What happened since
Not published. Her last verified basketball season is 2023-24; she appears on Bard's 2024 women's soccer roster as a senior, and no source fetched records what she did after graduating.
No retrieval date is stored against these sources, so treat anything time-sensitive — a current club, a current roster — as needing a fresh check.
Athlavia’s note on this route
Everything above is drawn from the sources. This is our editorial judgement about why the route is worth showing, and it is the only opinion on this page.
Two things families should take from this. First, she was recruited primarily for a different sport and picked up basketball as well; Division III's lack of athletic scholarships is precisely what makes playing two sports straightforward, because no roster place is tied to a scholarship line. Second, she chose the university for a specific degree — architecture — and the academic honours came alongside the sport, not instead of it. That is the honest version of 'choose the degree as much as the basketball'.
This set has not been through the balancing pass, so it may over-represent Division I.
What we could not confirm
These are the checking pass’s own notes, copied without editing. They address the person writing this page, which is why some are phrased as instructions. They are published because a list of what we removed is worth more than an assurance that we checked.
What is still unknown
- Her first college year is not directly verified. She was a sophomore in 2022-23, which implies a 2021-22 start, but that roster was not read. Say 'verified 2022-23 and 2023-24' rather than giving a four-year span.
- She is a football/soccer recruit who also played basketball. Do not present her as a basketball recruit.
- Her basketball height is listed as 5'3" on both rosters read; do not round or adjust it.
One further note in our file is not published here. A note is withheld when it states a date of birth or an age, names a relative, or is an internal editorial instruction about which records to keep.
Researcher’s own rating: 90 out of 100. This is the checking agent’s self-assessment, not a measurement. Across the 110 records it runs from 62 to 93, so the source count above it tells you more.

Athlavia had no involvement with Waleska Brito. We did not advise, represent or place her, and we do not know her.
This page describes a public sporting record: where she played, at what level, and what published sources say about that. It carries no photograph, no date of birth and no contact details, and we do not report anything about her health beyond what her own sources state and what the route requires.
If you are Waleska Brito, or represent her, and want anything here corrected or this page removed, write to support@athlavia.com and we will act on it.
